"Personal reasons"
Usually, 'personal reasons' is the Null Excuse for quitting: It can mean anything from personal scandal to incompetence to boredom to disagreements with other managers. What it almost never means is 'personal reasons'. At least usually. The story is slightly tragic, and reassures us that either honesty is still alive or the Broken Clock Principle remains valid.
